|RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilitates and supports community efforts to improve the well-being of immigrants and refugees to ensure their successful integration into the Dayton community. The Welcome Dayton Coordinator initiates, develops, implements, and evaluates programming focused on immigrant and refugee integration and community engagement. The incumbent identifies and applies for grant opportunities to sustain and grow the program's activities. Manages the various avenues of communication that the Welcome Dayton program utilizes; including newsletters, social media, and the program's website. The Welcome Dayton Coordinator is responsible for working with City departments to ensure resources are available to reach immigrants and refugees and provide equitable access to services. The incumbent builds and maintains good working relationships with Dayton's diverse immigrant and refugee communities and must stay abreast of federal, state, and local policies that may impact the immigrant and refugee community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Social Work, International Affairs, Community Development or other related field AND 3 years of experience working with the public. Research skills must include review and documenting methods as well as best practices. A Master's degree is preferred. Must possess a valid driver's license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment. Post secondary education must be from a college, university, or institution of higher learning that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Universities or equivalent region.

|Final permanent appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a job-related medical examination, including drug screen, and providing documentary evidence of Employment Authorization and Identity.
Appointment to positions in this classification will require applicants to pass a police background investigation.
