|WATER TREATMENT TECHNICAL SUPERVISOR|

|RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides technical supervision necessary to ensure safe, potable water for the City of Dayton and other service areas. Manages the Supply and Treatment Division's labs and assures appropriate certifications are achieved and maintained. Provides technical guidance and advice to the water treatment plants, well fields and lime recalcining plant supervisors regarding technical operations, chemical control, equipment and procedures. Assures compliance with all regulatory agencies and acts as liaison with state and federal regulatory agencies. Performs public relations for the division by conducting tours, making public presentations, and resolving citizen complaints. Prepares and maintains the chemical hygiene plan as stipulated by OSHA.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Environmental Science or related field AND 10 years of water treatment and laboratory experience (2 of the 10 years must have been in a supervisory position); OR above degree AND 7 years of water treatment and laboratory experience (2 of the 7 years must have been in a supervisory position), 18 months as a Water Bacteriologist Chemist and 2 years as a Water Instrumentation Specialist or equivalent. Degree must be from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Universities or equivalent region. Must possess and maintain an Ohio EPA Water Operator Class III license. Must possess a valid driver's license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.

|Final permanent appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a job-related medical examination, including drug screen, and providing documentary evidence of Employment Authorization and Identity.
Appointment to positions in this classification will require applicants to pass a police background investigation.
